Whilst Lanzarote isn't known to be a party island on the scale of the likes of Ibiza, it does have a very vibrant night life with entertainment, restaurants and bars to suit all families of all ages, couples and solo travellers.
One of the highlights of anyones holiday is the night life. We escape the dogma of day to day life by soaking up the sun and exploring by day, and enjoying a nice meal, a few cocktails and entertainment on an evening. We embrace the night time more knowing that we don't have an alarm set the following morning (or maybe you do if you've got plans such as an excursion or activity!)
Lanzarote has a very diverse night scene, which can differ largely depending on the resort you're staying in. For example Playa Blanca offers holiday-makers a more relaxed approach to Lanzarote Nightlife, with a huge choice of restaurants set out across the promenade and again in the Marina Rubicon. Costa Teguise might be considered to offer a night life more suitable to families with smaller children, and Puerto del Carmen caters more for those looking to party into the early hours of the morning.
Night Life in Playa Blanca
Located in the southern part of the island, Playa Blanca is somewhat cut off from the other resorts. It's grown considerably over the last couple of decades and offers a superb selection of great restaurants ranging from typical Canarian style food to Indian, Chinese, Mexican and more. There are three main areas to consider when thinking about your evening meal.
Faro Park, the western most point of Playa Blanca has a selection of restaurants and bars which are really handy for anyone staying in that area. It's a bit of a trek to the main town area of Playa Blanca from Faro Park so these restaurants are in a great location for holiday makers staying close by.
The main town itself has a stunning costal promenade that actually runs the entire length of Playa Blanca, but in the central part of the town you'll find some amazing restaurants with sea views. They are great places to sit outside, enjoy the food and people watch as the evening rolls on. For those of you who fancy a pre, or post, meal drink there are a number of bars on the promenade or a bit further around the corner at The Papagayo Centre behind Dorada Beach. This is the centre that also hosts a small number of night clubs and live music bars that provide entertainment to around midnight and beyond. Some of the clubs in Lanzarote don't get started until later on, and are open right up to the early hours of the morning.
The Marina Rubicon is another stunning location, and a great place to spend your evenings in Lanzarote. The quality of the restaurants here is second to none and the ambience more relaxed as you enjoy your meals looking out over the boats in the marina, as the sun goes down and darkness descends on the island.
Night Life in Puerto del Carmen
If you're looking for a holiday with a more vibrant nightlife then Puerto del Carmen might be more suitable for you. This is considered the largest, and main resort on the island and the Avenida de las Playas (more commonly known as the 'Strip') is home to hundreds of bars and restaurants. There is nothing you won't find in Puerto del Carmen. From Irish Bars, to Indian Restaurants, and Karaoke to Live Bands and Music, Puerto del Carmen has it all.
And if you're looking for something a little different to the usual pubs then you should check out the Music Hall Tavern Comedy Drag Show and Rancho Texas Western BBQ Night. Both these events are suitable for families and will guarantee to make family memories you take with you forever.
The old Town of Puerto del Carmen has some amazing live music bars and restaurants, and a couple of late night bars / clubs that will satisfy anyone looking to party into the early hours.
Night Life in Costa Teguise
Costa Tegusie is a great family resort and the nightlife doesn't let that down. From a great range of restaurants and bars, to late night music and Karaoke there its easy to find something to do on an evening to keep the whole family entertained.
Night Life in Matagorda
Matagorda is a much smaller resort, however there are some fantastic restaurants and bars here. Although Matagorda is in close proximity to the main strip of Puerto del Carmen, it's still a taxi ride away and back, so if you're staying in Matagorda and fancy something a bit closer to your accommodation then you won't have to go far to find it..
Cocktails at Sunset in Lanzarote
Who doesn't love a cocktail when on holiday? Lanzarote has some spectacular sunsets and what better way to start your evening than watching the sun go down with your favourite Cocktail in hand.

If you're looking for a different way to start your evening entertainment, Lanzarote has some amazing sunset cruises with the added bonus of Whale and Dolphin watching. Live Music in Lanzarote
If you love Live Music, then Lanzarote is a great place to be. Many bars now offer sunset acoustic sessions where you can enjoy an early evening drink and a tune, and of course later shows of full band performances are easy to find in many bars around the resorts.
