Ferry from Los Cristianos to La Gomera
Since La Gomera is a small volcanic island that’s just a short ferry ride away from Tenerife, we kick off the La Gomera island tour with a boat ride from Los Cristianos.
From there, we set sail and head to the port of San Sebastian in La Gomera. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the views of the rugged coastline from the boat or even at the top deck for a more pleasurable viewing experience.
During the La Gomera jeep safari, you’ll find yourself in awe of the small island with its dramatic mountain landscape, tranquil countryside views, and various attractions such as the Garajonay National Park.
Sagrado Corazon and Garajonay National Park
As we arrive on the island, the first stop in our jeep tour in La Gomera is the monument of Sagrado Corazon, from which you can enjoy overlooking views of the capital. We then head to Garajonay National Park, which is a forest that’s home to crystal clear springs and is set against a beautiful rocky backdrop.
Chipude village
We’ll continue on our jeep safari La Gomera, passing through evergreen valleys and quiet, charming villages. We get to stop by at the village of Chipude, which is where you’ll discover the art of indigenous whistling language called El Silbo. This is the language used by locals to communicate with each other across valleys and mountains for centuries.
Lunch at Las Rosas
We then spice up our La Gomera tour a little by venturing off road to head to Las Rosas, where lunch will be served. Here you’ll get to enjoy local cuisine and observe Roque de San Pedro as well as the vibrant gardens hugged by the palm groves and banana plantations.
San Sebastian
After lunch, our jeep safari in Gomera heads back to San Sebastian, which you can freely explore for a limited time. This is where you can see the so-called house of Christopher Columbus where he reportedly stayed, as well as the Asuncion Church which houses an early religious art and a 17th-century altarpiece, which is an attraction in itself.
