Technical proposals for Timanfaya

With an aim to reduce queues of vehicles, The Timanfaya park could see a number of technical upgrades that would allow for the implementation of a timed ticketing system.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote is considering an online booking solution so tourists can schedule their visits to The Timanfaya National Park, with a view to reduce the lengthy lines of vehicles waiting to park that regularly overspill onto the main road.

A digital time slot system has been under consideration for some time but would require a number of upgrades to the attraction including power and fibre optic cables for a fast and stable connectivity.

The Timanfaya National Park is the most visited attraction on the island, with long queues of traffic forming between 9am and midday. Although you can visit the park by car it is only possible to take a tour of the park and Lunar route by the coach services provided once you park your vehicle.
