What you will see on the Lanzarote Jeep North Island Tour
Village of Guatiza
The village of Guatiza may not sound familiar to you. But it's worth the stop and you'll see why. Here you will discover some amazing views and volcanic tunnels, along with some of the largest cacti you might see on the island.
Mala, Tabayesco, Haria and Temisa villages
Have you ever visited a nudist village? Well now is the time to do just that. The 4 x 4 Lanzarote North Tour then takes you East where you will learn more about village life on the island. Charco del Palo is a known nudist village with around 500 residents. It's also home to some stunning natural swimming pools and beaches. Charco del Palo was the first official naturist resort established in the Canaries and nudity is permitted everywhere!
After Mala and Charco del Palo, you'll then ascend to the village of Tabayesco which has only 50 houses and on to the more famous village of Haria, which is famous for sitting in the valley of 1000 palms and the resting place of the islands most famous architect, artist and visionary, the late Cèsar Manrique.
Caleta de Famara
Known for it's hippy vibe and dramatic waves, Famara is popular among surfers and beach sports enthusiasts. The village sits on the coast at the foot of the Riscos de Famara cliffs. It's a small village with a friendly vibe, a 6km beach and many small cafes and restaurants.
Lunch break
Although lunch isn't included in this tour package, it's possible to stop off at the village and port of Orzola. It's only a small village but worth exploring. The ferry from Orzola goes to the neighbouring island of La Graciosa, which you can visit on other excursions, but for now you can just explore the most northern village on Lanzarote before we head further back south to the village of Teguise.
The village of Teguise
Teguise is the former capital of Lanzarote. On a Sunday the streets are lined with market stalls as it hosts the largest outdoor market in the Canary Islands but ofor 6 days a week it's just a typical sleepy Canarian village. You'll still find some great cafes, restaurants and shops open here.
The Villages of La Santa and Tinajo
The 4 x 4 Jeep North tour of Lanzarote then continues south west to La Santa. Here you'll also find a purpose built professional sporting village where athletes from all around the world come to train in the Lanzarote climate. Serious athletes who have their sights set on the Lanzarote Ironman competition also come to train here. The villages of La Santa and Tinajo also contain some amazing, typically Canarian architecture. You'll find a lot of locals living here, away from the busy tourist resorts in the south of the island.
The Ravens of Lanzarote Volcano
The Lanzarote 4 x 4 Jeep Tour of the north concludes with an experience you won't find on any other excursion, and that's a walk around The Ravens Volcano (known locally as La Cuerva). This volcano is situated between Timanfaya and La Geria. It's possible to walk around the circumference of the volcano and at one point you can take a short path down into the crater.
