A hammerhead shark has been spotted and filmed off the coast of Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote.
In the calm waters of Tuesday morning on the 30th January a fisherman captured footage of a solitary hammerhead shark swimming around with its dorsal fin out of the water.
The hammerhead is classed a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and with its unique hammer like shaped head can grow up to 5 meters long.
Sharks are not uncommon to the island of Lanzarote, and its a known preservation area for species such as the Angel.
The hammerhead shark doesn't usually pose any threat to humans, but it's a magnificent thing to see in the waters around the island.
