Things to do in Ibiza
Planning a holiday to Ibiza can be very easy, but you must know what fun activities are available for you to do there once you arrive. Of course, you can also plan many Ibiza excursions and Ibiza tours for the time you are on the island because those options will allow you to see exactly what is available in this beautiful destination.
There are so many different Ibiza attractions on the island and it could take you days to see and appreciate them all. Whether you are looking to spend your time at the Ibiza waterparks or looking for more historical places to see, you will find that filling the days and times within your itinerary is quite simple.
The Best Ibiza Attractions
Aguamar Water Park
The best Ibiza water park is Aquamar Ibiza and you will find enough fun and excitement there to last you all day. This is one of the most popular things to do in Ibiza. You will find this Ibiza waterpark over in Playa den Bossa and from the moment you arrive, you will find yourself zooming down one water slide after another. There is a smaller pool for those visitors on the smaller side and the picnic area is an excellent place to enjoy a bite to eat as you get a little rest.
The Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art
This is one of the best Ibiza attractions for art lovers and you will quickly discover that there are quite a few pieces from renowned artists inside. There are many works of art by Antoni Mari Ribas, who is one of the best painters on the island, but you will also see numerous temporary exhibits. An archaeological site lies beneath the museum and you can look at the findings through the glass floor.
Puig des Molins Necropolis
This hilly area used to be a Phoenician settlement site back in the 7th century BC. There are at least three thousand tombs in this area, but you can only see a few of the ones that have been excavated on what is now considered an archaeological site. If you are interested in more of what has been discovered over the years, you may want to visit the on-site museum.
Ibiza Cathedral
The Ibiza Cathedral is considered one of the best Ibiza attractions, so do not be surprised if it seems quite crowded when you visit. The real name of this cathedral is the Cathedral of the Lady of Our Snows and it can be found at the top of a hill in Ibiza Old Town. Making the climb up the hill to the cathedral is worthy of the views you will see, but it is best to do early in the morning or later at night before the sunsets.
Can Marca Caves
Out of all the Ibiza attractions, the Can Marca Caves might be the one with the most sordid history. Smugglers used this system of caves to store all their contraband and you can still see the carvings they did on the cavern walls that allowed them to feel where they were going in the dark. The waterfall in the middle is even more spectacular thanks to the light show and you will be enthralled with all the stalagmites and stalactites you see during your tour.
Es Vedra
Es Vedra is a small rock island that you will find to the west of Ibiza. This Ibiza attraction can be seen from the shoreline, but if you truly want to experience the mythical magic of this island, it is best to hire a boat to take you out there. One of the best times to be out near this island is when the sun is setting because the glow around it makes it look even more mystical.
Ibiza Old Town
If you must choose one of all the Ibiza attractions on the island during your stay, then it must be Ibiza Old Town. The ancient walls hold a lot of history and you will discover a lot of it during your walks on the winding streets. People still live in this part of Ibiza, so you can capture a glimpse of the locals’ lives, as you pass by old buildings and other attractions from many years ago. You can visit the Ibiza old town on one of our guided excursion.
Ibiza Hippy Markets
Hippy Markets are everywhere in Ibiza and you will want to spend a little time in at least one of them during your visit. While every hippy market is not open every day of the week, you can usually find one of them open on the day you want to do a little shopping. Two of the best hippy markets on the island are Las Dalias and Punta Arabi. Las Dalias is open on both Monday and Tuesday nights, as well as Sundays during the month of August. Punta Arabi is the hippy market you will want to visit on Wednesdays. If you must go shopping on a different day than those mentioned, then you will need to check out the other hippy markets on the island.
These are the best Ibiza attractions on the island and you will love visiting each and every one of them during your island holiday. While you should have enough time to see them all, we can understand that a few may take longer than others. Therefore, we recommend listing each attraction in the order of how much you would like to see them all. This will ensure that you can see the ones you want to see the most while allowing you to possibly put others on your list for your next Ibiza trip.
