North Lanzarote Shore Excursions
If you're visiting Lanzarote on a Cruise Ship and want to explore the North of the island then this private Shore Excursion specifically covers the best places and attractions in the North of Lanzarote.
After being collected outside the cruise terminal, your personal tour guide will take you North to the village of Haria.
Haria Village & The Valley of 1000 Palms
This stunning Lanzarote village is nestled beautifully in a valley that is covered in Palm Trees. Legend says that the locals would plant a tree for every girl that was born in the village, and two palms for each boy. The result is a stunning postcard like view from the top of the valley.
Stunning views of La Graciosa island from Mirador del Rio
The next stop on the tour takes you to Mirador del Rio, a Cèsar Manrique inspired attraction built 475m high into the Riscos de Famara with breathtaking views over the neighbouring island of La Graciosa and the Natural Park of the Chinijo Archipelago.
Punta Mujeres and Casa Juanita
Punta Mujeres is a very typical Canarian Costal village on the East Coast. The tiny streets are lined with whitewashed houses and natural pools line the coast where locals can enjoy swimming in the warm water. Look out for the 'dolls house' here. This building certainly stands out above the rest and has an interesting story behind it. Don't forget to ask your guide for more information!
Jameos del Agua
Further up the East Coast the tour brings you to Jameos del Agua. This volcanic tunnel is home to a natural salt water lake that is populated with albino crabs, native to the island of Lanzarote. As you walk through the tunnel and come up the other side you'll enter a garden with bright white floors that is home to a swimming pool fit for a king - the king of Spain no less, as he is the only person permitted to enter this pool. At the back of the garden at Jameos del Agua is a concert hall that is built into the volcanic tunnel.
The Village of Teguise
The final stop on the Shore excursions Lanzarote North Tour is the sleepy village of Teguise. On a Sunday the place comes alive with market stalls as it hosts the largest outdoor market in the Canary Islands, but for six days a week you'll find a slow pace of life here in this quiet town. There are some great places to eat though, and a few shops dotted around the streets. The centre piece of the village is the beautiful church which is open to the public. Pop in and have a look around!
