This week the Canary Islands will enjoy highs of 26 degrees with a few scattered showers. The UV Index is forecast to be high around 10/11 with winds generally coming from the North.
Aemet, the official State Meteorological Agency for Spain, is forecasting that the Canary Islands will experience mixed weather this week, with highs of 26 degrees, lows of 18 and northerly winds of up to 30kmph in the east.
Lanzarote, the most easterly island of the Archipelago, starts the week bathed in Sunshine with rain forecast in the evening for Tuesday, Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon and evening. Humidity ranges between 65 and 85%.
Fuerteventura looks to experience thicker cloud during the middle of the week with rain forecast for late Tuesday and Early Wednesday. Temperatures are set to reach a high of 25 degrees, with lows of 19.
As we head West across the islands Gran Canaria is set to see less sunshine than the Eastern islands with the week seeing thicker cloud and the start, and lighter cloud towards to the end and temperatures set between 19 and 24 degrees.
Tenerife will see the best weather of the islands this week, with highs of 27 degrees and sunshine throughout the week. Residents and holidaymakers on the island may experience mist and fog on Tuesday which will clear during the middle of the day.
As is normal in the Canary Islands the weather forecast can change quickly and frequently. With the UV Index hitting highs of 11 remember to apply sun protection, drink plenty of water and seek shade where possible. Even if it doesn't feel that hot, the UV rays can still burn your skin if exposed for hours on end.
